Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Texas is seeking an Early Childhood Co-Teacher to support Tier 1 instruction from Prekindergarten to Grade 2 under the lead teacher. You will facilitate small-group learning, provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports, and help create joyful, engaging classrooms where all students thrive.

You will collaborate closely with the lead teacher to ensure mastery and equity, maintain student records, and lead targeted intervention sessions.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience: 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under the direction and guidance of the classroom teachers
• Assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records
• Support Tier 1 core instruction under the direction of the lead teacher, ensuring all students can access grade-level learning
• Actively facilitate small-group instruction and intervention groups based on student data and teacher planning
• Monitor student learning and needs during instruction and provide feedback and support
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis
• Implement a clear and consistent behavior management system that aligns to campus-wide initiatives while developing students’ character and sense of community in the classroom
• Help shape and develop a school wide culture that foster a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student
