Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Pre-Construction Low Voltage Electrical Estimator to lead procurement for Major Projects, developing accurate installation cost models and BOMs, collaborating with the Major Projects Team and branch offices to win projects.

The role requires 5+ years estimating, electrical trade knowledge, and proficiency with Procore and MS Office; travel up to 10% and remote work options for US-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years estimating experience.
• Electrical industry equivalent experience (Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Supervisor, Estimator, Technician, or bachelor’s degree) required.
• Works effectively and directly with sales, Operations and in Team settings.
• Solid computer skills, including an understanding of MS Word, MS Excel, MSPowerPoint, and MS Project.
• Electrical industry/installation knowledge a plus (Division 23, 25, 26, 27 and 28)Electrical Supervisor, Electrician, Estimator, etc.)
• Procurement experience with a focus on construction/Low Voltage Electrical and services with experience in cost analysis and strong financial knowledge.
• Experience utilizing estimating software (Procore, McCormick, Arch desk, Accubid, Bluebeam etc.).
• Able to complete take-offs to establish BOM and ROM for project installation requirements.
• People Skills- Candidate should have the ability to cooperate with people of varying levels both inside/outside the organization and interact with the team to establish and achieve team goals and objectives.
• Communication - This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to express information/ideas in a professional manner to varying levels of people and customers. Strong English skills required. Multi language capabilities preferred but not necessary.
• Initiative/Execution/Motivation - We’re also looking for someone with the ability to take actions, make informed decisions and generate ideas to improve overall business performance on key metrics directly motivated by this position.

Responsibilities

• Lead Subcon installation pricing with Sales and determine Subcon Strategy, review total Project SOW, qualify and clarify Subcon requirements/Bid leveling, use estimating tools to develop baseline Subcon Installation Pricing.
• Source all 3rd Party Sub Quotes, review Customer documents to ensure adequate provisions in JCI contract to Subcontractors, develop,
• Host, Review all RFPs, establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
