Job summary

Clearway Energy is seeking a Pre-Construction Analyst to support development, engineering, and procurement teams across early to late-stage solar and battery projects. You will review studies, schedules, budgets, safety plans, and EPC contract exhibits while coordinating with construction, commissioning, and external partners.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 3–5 years of experience with Commercial or Utility Solar Energy or Battery projects.
• Experience working for an EPC Construction Contractor, CM Consulting Firm, Engineering Firm, or Owner/Developer.
• Experience working cross-functionally with complex internal and external teams, building consensus and driving initiatives.
• Experience working with Utilities, Developers, Engineers, and EPC Contractors.
• Proven experience in project development, design and engineering, and construction with a focus on renewable energy solar and battery projects.
• Knowledge of solar and battery energy systems, development practices, and construction processes.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strong critical thinking abilities to identify risks and fatal flaws.
• Effective communication skills to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Early Design and Site Feasibility: Review site/designs for feasibility and efficiency. Identify key constraints and interconnection access.
• Schedule Analysis and Development: Review input on schedules for RFP, EPC, Construction, and Commissioning timelines.
• Construction Risk: Evaluate site risks related to access, security, weather, and environmental factors.
• Project Budget Review: Provide input on EPC and construction management costs and contingencies.
• Safety Planning and Review: Review EPC Site Safety Plans and negotiate safety terms.
• EPC Contract Term and Exhibit negotiation: Review and negotiate terms related to Scope, Deliverables, Payment schedules, and milestones.
• Utility Interconnection Support: Track upgrade timelines and coordinate with EPC High Voltage scope.
• Commissioning Team coordination: Understand terms around testing and commissioning.
• Prevailing Wage, Labor, and Apprenticeship requirements: Identify and relay requirements to procurement/exec teams.
• Pre-Work Agreement Budget Management: Review PWAs and manage monthly invoices, liens.
• Day-to-Day: Prioritize multiple projects; report status and milestones.
• Stakeholder Communication: Provide project updates and support capital spend approvals.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture (preferred)
