You will verify insurance coverage, obtain referrals and prior authorizations, and communicate patient financial responsibility to ensure approvals before appointments.

Ideal candidates have experience with medical insurance, strong communication skills, and proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical billing preferred.
• Familiar with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer rules.
• Knowledge of referrals, authorizations, and benefits verification.
• Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Obtain referrals, prior authorizations, and pre-certifications.
• Review coverage and calculate patient financial responsibility.
• Communicate payment expectations with patients before services.
• Coordinate authorizations for radiology, pain management, neurology, and other services.
• Schedule appointments as needed.
• Review patient accounts to ensure fee collection accuracy.
• Answer calls and return messages promptly.
• Complete tasks in the EHR system.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff to secure approvals.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidentiality.
• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the authorization process.
