Job summary

The Research Administrator, Pre-Award at Thomas Jefferson University partners across the TJU community to prepare and submit research proposals to secure external funding. You will ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and institutional policies, guiding budgets, terms and conditions, and facilitating award setup with the post-award team.

You will train and support faculty and staff on proposal development, collaborate with internal offices to mitigate risk, and contribute to process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• 5 years in grants administration, federal and non-federal.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sponsor regulations and institutional policies.
• Excellent oral and written communication to diverse faculty, staff, and sponsors.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to review complex proposals and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposals and budgets for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission.
• Acts as liaison with sponsors, assisting with award negotiation and interpretation of terms.
• Provides guidance and training on proposal development and sponsor requirements.
• Coordinates with internal offices to ensure consistency and timely award setup.
