The Iowa Clinic is seeking a Pre-Authorization Specialist to manage benefits, insurance prior-authorizations for physical therapy, and coordinate with patients, providers, and insurers. Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for standard clinic hours (8:00–4:30, 30-minute lunch).
• Obtain benefits and insurance prior-authorizations for physical therapy services as needed.
• Verify insurance benefits and coverage to ensure accurate patient scheduling and authorization requirements.
• Gather required clinical and insurance documentation, submit authorization requests, and follow up for timely approvals.
• Coordinate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding authorization status and scheduling needs.
• Provide front desk support during downtime (check-in, greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling).
• Strive to create The Iowa Clinic Experience with every patient and team interaction.

Wondering what a day in the life of a Pre-Authorization Specialist at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

What You'll Do:

• • Arrive at work in the morning and enjoystandard clinic hours with no night shifts (8:00-4:30 with a 30-minute lunch).
  • Obtain benefits and insurance prior-authorizations for physical therapy services as needed.
  • Verify insurance benefits and coverage to ensure accurate patient scheduling and authorization requirements are met.
  • Gather required clinical and insurance documentation, submit authorization requests, and follow up to ensure timely approvals.
  • Coordinate with patients, providers, and insurance companies regarding authorization status and scheduling needs.
  • During downtime, provide front desk support, including:
    • Patient check-in and registration
    • Greeting and assisting patients
    • Answering phones and directing calls
    • Scheduling appointments
    • General administrative support to help maintain efficient clinic operations
