Job summary

Virginia Urology is seeking a Pre-Admission Testing Registered Nurse for our Stony Point location in Richmond, VA. You will perform pre-operative assessments, coordinate labs and tests, and educate patients on pre- and postoperative care to ensure safe perioperative experiences.

The role requires an RN licensed in Virginia with ACLS/CPR and at least 1 year in PAT/pre-op/post-op care. This is a full-time position offering comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed in the State of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity.
• CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 1 year experience in pre-admission testing, pre-operative, and/or post-operative care unit.

Responsibilities

• Develops a plan of care that meets individual patient’s needs and follows established nursing standards of care/practice.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in this unit.
• Uses critical thinking skills in the formulation and implementation of the patient’s plan of care.
• Delivers care with respect to the individual’s spiritual and cultural needs.
• Performs pre-operative assessment based on VUSC guidelines and coordinates labs/EKG/CXR as needed.
• Educates patients regarding pre-op and post-op instructions and care plans.
• Communicates effectively with anesthesia, supervisors, and other healthcare providers.
