Job summary

Georgetown Surgery Center is seeking a registered nurse for Pre Admission Testing (PAT) in a full-time role. The PAT RN acts as a patient advocate, coordinating with the care team and physicians to ensure a smooth preoperative process.

Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing a care plan, pre-screening with anesthesia, maintaining accurate documentation, and cross-training to pre-op and PACU as needed. No calls, weekends, or holidays required.

Qualifications

• Assess patient and family needs to provide quality care during patient interview.
• Develop, discuss, and communicate a realistic plan of care for each patient with patient, family, and significant others.
• Demonstrate nursing skills and judgement to implement medical plans of care and procedures.
• Collaborate with anesthesia provider to pre-screen patients by sharing lab results and needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care for team communication.

• Demonstrate the skills and judgement necessary to implement medical plans of care, nursing interventions, and procedures for the patient; work with anesthesia to pre-screen patients.
• Evaluate and reassess identified issues, care provided, and patient responses to meet patient and family needs.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of nursing care for integration of information for the healthcare team.
