Job Summary:

Serves as a primary point of contact for patients and visitors in an outpatient unit and provides excellent customer service through clear communication. Reports to the manager with input from physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Communicates with and assists patients, staff, and the public courteously by phone and in person, providing accurate information and guidance.
• Handles patient information accurately, maintains confidentiality, and prepares necessary documents in accordance with standards.
• Performs check-in, registration, verifies demographics, and confirms insurance authorizations and referrals.
• Monitors patient flow, resolves issues proactively, and acts as a liaison to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Processes patient checkout, schedules follow-ups, and enters billing information, providing educational materials as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• 0-1 years of related experience required.
• Basic computer skills; familiar with web-based applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience in healthcare or hospitality environment.

Competencies:

• Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
• Basic knowledge of healthcare procedures and customer service skills.
• Ability to work respectfully with others and provide high-quality service, remaining calm under stress.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with occasional walking and standing. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force.
