Job summary

The Pet Hospital of La Mesa in La Mesa, CA is seeking a Practice Manager to lead day-to-day operations, guide staff development, and drive financial and client-service excellence. You will partner with veterinarians to maintain high-quality care while growing the hospital’s presence in the community.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in management, with CVPM/CVBL or healthcare administration background preferred. This full-time role requires strong leadership and operational oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a managerial role in healthcare or veterinary setting.
• CVPM, CVBL and/or a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related areas are preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated experience in P&L management and financial analysis is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff Management: supervise and lead all practice staff, recruit, onboard, train, and evaluate performance.
• Financial Management: oversee budgeting, billing, expenses, and accounts receivable with regular reports.
• Client Relations: coach the team to provide exceptional client service and handle inquiries professionally.
• Operations Management: ensure smooth daily activities, inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
• Marketing & Community Relations: execute strategies to attract new clients and expand community presence.
• Compliance: ensure OSHA, privacy, and regulatory adherence and maintain records securely.
• Technology & Training: train staff on practice technology and coordinate with IT support.
