Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa is seeking a Practice Administrator II to lead multiple primary care practices. The role oversees daily operations, budgeting, and regulatory compliance while guiding physician and staff onboarding and practice setup.

This position supports a large network within the BayCare Medical Care- Primary Care facility and requires strong leadership in a complex clinical environment. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years in medical group leadership, and

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in medical group management, healthcare leadership, population health management, or transformation leadership.
Preference for physician practice-specific health delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Provides management and leadership of assigned practices of varying complexity that support more than 10 assigned practices or more than 20 physicians.
Oversees utilization management and daily business operations, including financial, operational, administrative, and regulatory compliance.
Assists the Director, Operations BMG with operating budgets, capital budget requests, new practice setup, physician and staff onboarding, physician departures, office moves/closures, peer mentoring, and special projects as assigned.

Position Details

Job Title: Practice Administrator

Facility: BayCare Medical Care- Primary Care

Status: Full Time, Exempt: Yes

Shift Hours: 8am-5pm

Position Summary

Provides management and leadership of assigned practices of varying complexity that support more than 10 assigned practices or more than 20 physicians.
Oversees utilization management and daily business operations, including financial, operational, administrative, and regulatory compliance.
Assists the Director, Operations BMG with operating budgets, capital budget requests, new practice setup, physician and staff onboarding, physician departures, office moves/closures, peer mentoring, and special projects as assigned.

Required/Preferred Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business required; Master’s degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in medical group management, healthcare leadership, population health management, or transformation leadership.
Preference will be given for physician practice-specific health delivery experience.

Master’s degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
Physician practice-specific health delivery experience preferred.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in physician clinic operations, with a strong preference for experience supporting residency clinics and collaborating with faculty physicians, residents, organizational leadership, and key support departments.
