About the Role

The PR Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting strategic communications for Gap Inc., including the company's CEO. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help shape and execute the CEO’s communication strategy both internally and externally, ensuring alignment with our corporate strategy and Gap Inc.’s purpose and priorities. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, with great creativity and organizational skills and a passion for content creation and media relations.

What You'll Do
  1. Social Media Management & Content Creation:
    • Help create and manage content for the CEO’s LinkedIn to enhance thought leadership presence.
    • Maintain content calendar and support development of weekly CEO LinkedIn brief outlining posting cadence, copy/assets for review, and other notable flags.
    • Work with the broader communications team to align on social media strategy across Gap Inc., brands, and other senior leaders.
    • Create engaging/shareable content and work with creative team to keep social assets updated.
    • Monitor LinkedIn posts, competitor activities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for continued channel enhancement.
    • Develop quarterly reports to track progress against social goals.
  2. Executive Communications Support:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in developing weekly CEO brief to share timely content for review/discussion.
    • Manage and maintain organization of the CEO email inbox.
    • Manage formatting, previewing, and sending of all-employee CEO emails from the Mailchimp platform.
  3. Media Relations Support:
    • Create briefs for CEO events, speaking engagements, and interviews.
    • Support management of VIP stakeholder list and work closely with PR teams to support VIP seeding process.
    • Research, arrange meetings, and build relationships with key reporters, media outlets, and content creators.
    • Pitch ideas to the internal team on prominent and emerging media platforms that can be leveraged to advance the CEO’s thought leadership platform.
  4. Event Support:
    • Support vetting of events and speaking engagements.
    • Proactively research and present new speaking opportunities that support the CEO’s external speaking strategy and enhance Gap Inc.’s narrative.
    • Maintain the CEO event tracker to organize incoming event and speaking opportunity invites, track decisions, and plan for event execution.
    • Support event logistics as needed.
  5. Corporate Affairs Support:
    • Support ad hoc corporate affairs team needs, such as researching media opportunities/events/non-traditional media, helping coordinate logistics and materials for corporate events, and supporting creation of internal presentations.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree and proven experience in a comparable communications, PR, or marketing role.
  • Prior experience in media relations, press seeding, and project management.
  • Understanding of social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, and proficiency in content creation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adjust to evolving priorities and handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in communications and social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
