Job summary

Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) invites a Parts Development Powertrain Specialist to drive supplier development and multi-year production ramp planning. You will identify capable suppliers, analyze pricing, and coordinate with Engineering and other teams to deliver on-time launches.

The role emphasizes negotiating long-term agreements, pursuing cost reductions, and guiding supplier programs through cradle-to-grave development while maintaining quality and delivery targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in relevant field.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Preferred: Intermediate - Minimum 2 years of related job experience.
• Experience in automotive industry in Purchasing, APQP, PPAP, Supplier Development/Engineering, Launch, Program Management, or related fields strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understand program sourcing and key milestone in support of launch.
• Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine price, and select suppliers with Engineering and/or other relevant teams.
• Prepare and own RFI’s, RFP’s and RFQ's for multi-year full production volume.
• Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, analyze proposals, negotiate with suppliers, and administer contracts.
• Negotiate long-term agreements and maintain best-in-class pricing.
• Lead cost reduction activities and develop commodities with suppliers to meet specifications and timing.
• Evaluate and guide final supplier selections, using should-cost models and supplier core competencies.
• Direct suppliers through Parts Development process from cradle to grave, achieving milestones toward mass production.
• Drive quality and delivery improvements, adherence to ISIR/PPAP, and efficient issue resolution with suppliers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting or related field
