Lucid Motors seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Rotor Line to lead the design, development, and launch of advanced rotor manufacturing equipment and processes. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Rotor Line willbe responsible forleading the design, development, installation, and launch of advanced rotor manufacturing equipment and processes at Lucid. This role will work closely with Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Product Engineering, Quality, New Product Introduction (NPI), and other cross-functional teams to ensure rotor production systems are robust, scalable, and capable of meeting safety, quality, cost, and throughput objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex rotor manufacturing equipment development and process implementation.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for electric motor rotor assembly and component production lines.
  • Prepare and procure all equipment, tooling, fixtures, gauges, and supporting systems required for station readiness and production launch.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, design engineering, controls, quality, facilities, and suppliers to specify and engineer rotor production equipment.
  • Lead projects through all phases of rotor line development, from concept and process definition through commissioning, ramp-up, and production launch.
  • Efficiently implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment to support product design changes, quality improvements, and productivity enhancements.
  • Utilize analytical problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, PFMEA, and root cause analysis to resolve manufacturing issues and improve process capability.
  • Use 3D modeling, simulation, and digital manufacturing tools to validate equipment designs, cycle times, ergonomics, and material flow.
  • Work closely with controls engineers and equipment suppliers on system architecture, equipment I/O, machine sequencing, and automation strategies.
  • Partner with layout engineering to develop and optimize rotor manufacturing line layouts and factory integration plans.
  • Develop manufacturing specifications, process documentation, work instructions, capacity models, and equipment acceptance criteria.
  • Support equipment commissioning, Run-at-Rate demonstrations, installation qualifications, process validations, and operator training.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, throughput, uptime, labor optimization, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Experience working with manufacturing technologies such as automation systems, robotics, servo motion systems, automated material handling, vision systems, laser marking and inspection, balancing equipment, joining technologies, press systems, and precision assembly processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ora relatedengineering disciplinerequired.
  • 5-8 years of experience in rotor manufacturing, electric motor production, automated assembly equipment, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering within the automotive or related industry.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform the essential duties of the position, including understanding work instructions, safety procedures, and job-related communications.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electric motor rotor manufacturing equipment design, commissioning, optimization, and sustaining engineering isrequired.
  • Strong understanding of rotor assembly processes such as shaft insertion, magnet insertion, balancing, welding, adhesive dispensing, laser marking, inspection, and automated assembly methodologies.
  • Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex cross-functional environments.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, CATIA, DELMIA, and other manufacturing engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems, robotics integration, machine controls, sensors, and manufacturing data collection systems.
  • Strong project management, equipment procurement, supplier management, and launch experience.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$121,900 - $167,640 USD

Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a401(k) retirementplan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off.Eligible employees may also participatein Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, aredeterminedbased on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results,in accordance withthe terms of the applicable plans.
