Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Michigan, Livonia, is seeking a Pre-Program Strategy and Implementation Engineer to lead powertrain projects, including ICE and BEV/transmission architectures, from concept through release. You will manage timelines, budgets, and cross-functional alignment with manufacturing, supply chain and product development to optimize in-house vs supplier-built units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of transmission or power unit development experience.
• Master's degree is a plus and relevant Powertrain exposure is valued.
• Experience with powertrain manufacturing on early development is beneficial.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability in a dynamic product landscape.

Responsibilities

• Launch new powertrain architectures through the unit approval process.
• Develop strategies for complexity vs carryover content.
• Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to deliver high-quality component designs.
• Establish cost targets that align with program targets.
• Provide estimates and track actuals for cost and timing of units.
• Support program deliverables, updates, and program reviews.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across manufacturing, supply chain and product development.
