Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking engineering interns to gain real-world experience in the Powertrain Engineering team. Interns will work across DTNA locations in the US, with summer starts in May or June and potential transition to full-time based on performance.

Position emphasizes development of engine integrations and powertrain systems, using NX and other CAD tools, in a hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote) at the Gaffney, SC site.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's program or higher in Mechanical Engineering or have graduated within 1 year (May/June).
• Experience with CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar modeling programs).

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle components and systems using engineering and CAD principles.
• Support engine integration design and development for Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicle products.
• Use NX and other design tools to create and maintain 3D part designs, detailed 2D drawings, GD&T, and installation diagrams.
• Identify proper materials, tolerances, finishes, fasteners, and production methods for new designs.
• Develop, release, and maintain accurate Engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with other design areas to reconcile conflicting design solutions into robust and cost-effective ones.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
