Job summary

Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, MI, is seeking a Product Development Engineer specializing in Power Supply System Calibration to develop electrical charging system calibration for gas engines, EVs and hybrids, within the powertrain control module. You will calibrate alternator control torque, engine idle stability, and voltage set points, releasing calibrations into Ford's system software.

This role requires hands-on experience with CAN/CAN-FD AUTOSAR, MATLAB/Simulink, and tools like ATI Vision,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years in product development, preferably calibration.
  • Experience calibrating electrical control systems in automotive industry using ATI Vision and INCA.
  • Experience collecting CAN/LIN data with Vector CANalyzer and Intrepid tools.
  • Knowledge of CAN/CAN-FD AUTOSAR and cybersecurity.
  • Familiar with CANalyzer and CANoe testing, CAPL scripts.
  • Familiar with MATLAB modeling, code generation, debugging and model testing.
  • Experience may be concurrent.

Responsibilities

  • Development of calibration for alternator control torque manager, engine idle stability for electrical transients, alternator voltage set point controls, and alternator diagnostics.
  • Release calibration into Ford system software.
  • Support powertrain development trips for engine calibration.
