Job summary

FEV North America, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer specializing in engine and hybrid powertrain calibration to advance state-of-the-art powertrain technology from concept to production.

You will calibrate and validate base engine controls, aftertreatment, and OBD systems; perform general engine and hybrid development work; and conduct validation and certification activities on dynos and in-vehicle environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.
• 1–3 years of engine, vehicle and/or powertrain testing experience.
• Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and internal combustion engines.
• Knowledge of CI and SI combustion processes and aftertreatment systems.
• Professional communication skills in English; able to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Support installation and commissioning of new powertrain test setups.
• Identify and implement required connections, measurement points and instrumentation.
• Coordinate testing of engines, aftertreatment and powertrain systems on dynamometers or in application environment.
• Analyze measured parameters and compare to project targets.
• Calibrate and validate ECU parameters to meet objectives.
• Summarize findings and prepare internal and customer reports.
• Manage customer hardware and project component inventory and logistics.
• May involve on-site work at customer facilities.
