Job summary

The City of Bushnell is seeking a Second Class Lineworker for the Electric Department. The role involves skilled work in construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution lines in accordance with trade standards.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent, completion of an Apprentice program, and two years of progressive experience. A Florida Class A driver license and physical ability to climb poles are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an Apprentice program and two years of progressive experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of tools, materials and methods used in line construction and maintenance.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine construction, maintenance and repair of the electrical distribution system.
• Works with high voltage lines and under adverse weather conditions with safety precautions.
• Installs and maintains municipal, commercial and residential electric service.
• Ensures inspections are satisfied for quality standards and safety.
• Installs and repairs transformers, meters and related distribution equipment.
• climbs poles to construct, replace and repair power lines and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
