Job summary

Pike Electric is seeking a Class A Lineman in Florida to construct and repair overhead distribution systems. The role involves working on energized and de-energized lines, with possible travel to out-of-state sites as needed. You will report to the Foreman and join a safety-focused team.

Responsibilities include leading crew members, training apprentices, and operating bucket trucks and other line equipment. A CDL and extensive line experience are required.

Qualifications

• Five years of recent overhead line experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials up to 50 pounds.
• Work for extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair overhead distribution systems while prioritizing safety.
• Lead crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair overhead power lines, poles, insulators and conductors.
• Follow switching and tagging procedures and test equipment usage.
• Climb structures using approved methods and equipment.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces, near energized equipment.
• Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, tensioners and pullers.
