Job summary

Jobot in the Chicagoland area is seeking a Superintendent (ComEd) to lead field operations on power utility construction projects, including substations and distribution networks, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will supervise crews and subcontractors, review plans, coordinate daily site activities, enforce OSHA standards, and collaborate with engineers, clients, and project managers to keep progress on track and quality high.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of field experience in power utility or electrical infrastructure construction.
• Proven experience as a Superintendent or Foreman managing utility or heavy civil projects.
• Strong knowledge of substation construction, duct banks, trenching, and high‑voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• OSHA certification and safety training preferred.
• Experience managing union and/or multi-trade workforces preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations for power utility construction projects including substations and distribution.
• Supervise crews, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure safety, on‑time delivery, and budget control.
• Coordinate daily site activities such as scheduling, material delivery, and equipment usage.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Review project plans and permits to ensure accurate execution.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues.
• Maintain daily reports and monitor productivity and quality.
• Oversee quality control and ensure installations meet standards.
