Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a field service engineer to provide hands-on support for power transformers, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and end-of-life services. You will read electrical/mechanical drawings, follow manuals, and perform tasks like bushing connections, vacuum/oil processing, and equipment assembly in on-site field environments.

You will collaborate with service teams and customers to ensure reliability, extend transformer life, and support dependable grid

Qualifications

• Must have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation, vacuum/oil processing, and internal components.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on field service support for power transformers including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and end-of-life services.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and follow technical manuals.
• Complete transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, and contoured joints.
• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as directed.
• Operate vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment and log activities.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs including tools, resources, and parts.
• Support product and process improvements to enhance operations and customer service.

Associate Degree + 2 years experience
