Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a field service professional to install, commission, maintain, repair, and upgrade power transformers. You will work on-site in challenging field conditions, interpreting drawings and manuals to ensure reliable, safe operation of critical grid equipment.

In this role you will coordinate logistics, travel up to 85%, and collaborate with customers and service colleagues to extend transformer life, improve performance, and support dependable grid

Qualifications

• Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Associate Degree with 2 years of professional experience or HS diploma with 5 years of experience.
• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and testing.
• Familiarity with transformer installation/assembly and oil processing.
• Valid driver's license with travel up to 85%.
• Ability to work outdoors and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field service including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
• Read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Complete internal transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, and joints.
• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs including tools, resources and parts.
• Collaborate with customers and service colleagues to extend transformer life and improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and guidelines.
