Job summary

RESA Power, LLC is seeking a commissioning engineer to provide testing and start-up services for electric utility customers in the Midwest, with regional travel covering Northern Illinois, Eastern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

You will inspect, test, troubleshoot high-voltage transmission and distribution systems, interpret power system schematics, perform data collection, and communicate findings clearly to customers and teammates while upholding electrical safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience with at least 3 years in electric utility.
• Preferred experience in commissioning and testing of electric power systems.
• Able to read and interpret power system schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication of technical topics.
• Commitment to electrical safety and regulatory compliance.
• Valid driver's license; willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and data collection on HV transmission and distribution systems.
• Read and interpret power system schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Work safely and adhere to electrical safety procedures.
• Demonstrate problem-solving abilities in field conditions.
• Communicate with customers and peers verbally and in writing.
• Be dependable with good judgment and organization.
• Provide customer service, time management and timely follow-up.
• Collaborate with customers, peers and management to resolve issues.
• Travel regionally; perform duties in compliance with regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
