Job summary

Portland General Electric in Portland, Oregon, seeks a Senior Transmission & Distribution Standards Engineer (P3) or Standards Engineer (P2) to join the Standards Engineering team. You will apply T&D standards expertise, support design practices, and help improve stakeholder experiences by aligning with regulatory and internal standards.

Responsibilities include supporting material failure analysis, supplier qualifications, and the development of complex standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering; PE preferred.
• P2: typically two+ years in engineering; P3: five+ years or four+ with PE.
• PE license strongly preferred; may be required based on role.

Responsibilities

• Applies knowledge of transmission and design standards, including overhead/underground distribution design, construction practices and materials, design tools, and applicable codes.
• Provides technical guidance to engineers or contractors.
• Prepares moderately/complex engineering deliverables; leads project teams.
• Develops and revises underground material specifications; coordinates standards review.
• Coordinates with stakeholders; supports capital budget and job estimates.
