Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA offers undergraduate summer internships through the Cyber and Critical Infrastructure Summer Institute (CSI). You will work on power systems resilience, cybersecurity, and related fields with LLNL scientists and engineers, with start dates between May 17, 2027 and June 21, 2027, and flexible end dates through September 24, 2027.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering, CS, Math, Physics, or related fields.
• Ability to apply basic engineering principles to energy infrastructure.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills.
• Ability to present and communicate concepts.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Exposure to power systems, industrial control systems, or grid modeling.
• Exposure to Matlab/Simulink, PowerWorld, PSLF, GridLAB-D, OpenDSS, Python, or C++.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and/or research support to projects in power systems, critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and related fields.
• Participate in supervised research across listed areas.
• Gather and analyze data in support of scientific research.
• Attend seminars and training classes at least weekly.
• Present work in seminars or posters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
