Insight Global is seeking a Lead Electrical Power Systems Engineer to guide naval power architecture efforts from concept to implementation. You will lead a ~12-person team, mentor engineers, and balance strategic direction with hands-on analysis and design for shipbuilding programs.

The role requires deep electrical power systems expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate with Navy stakeholders and program leadership to resolve complex design issues.

Qualifications

  • 14+ years in Electrical Power Systems Architecture, Design, and Analysis.
  • Experience in power distribution, generation and system design.
  • Proven leadership of complex engineering teams and mentoring.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical solutions from concept to implementation.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and customer-facing skills.
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Defense/Naval or other regulated industries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Navy/shipbuilding related program experience.
  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience leading teams of 10+ engineers.
  • Experience supporting government contracts and engineering modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and modification of electrical power system architectures.
  • Translate customer requirements into system designs for ship builds.
  • Support ongoing ship construction efforts and address Navy stakeholders.
  • Provide technical oversight to ~12 engineers; mentor juniors.
  • Collaborate with leadership and customers to evaluate design changes.
  • Troubleshoot and validate system performance; drive solutions to implementation.
