Job summary

Warren CAT in Midland, TX seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to design and integrate Caterpillar engines, gensets, and power systems into custom packaged solutions. You will develop 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using Autodesk Inventor and Vault, coordinating with engineers, project managers, and manufacturing staff.

Requirements include a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and up to 1 year of related experience, plus familiarity with fabrication, welding, piping, and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Experience with fabrication, welding, piping, and sheet metal processes.
• Familiarity with ANSI, ASME, AWS, NFPA, UL, and other standards.
• Experience in a manufacturing or custom equipment environment.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
• Experience using Autodesk Vault for document management and revision control.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• English fluency in reading/writing/speaking.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for engines, generators, and packaged power equipment.
• Develop complete 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Produce fabrication, assembly, installation drawings and BOMs.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and compliance.
• Incorporate engineering changes with revision control in Autodesk Vault.
• Support production by resolving manufacturing issues and improving designs.
