Job summary

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia is seeking an Engineering Intern to support Power Systems Sales and project coordination. You will assist with vendor transactions, switchgear and panel retrofit projects, parts orders, shipping, and paperwork to facilitate sales.

As a current full-time engineering student, you will gain hands-on training, exposure to AutoCAD and office software, and opportunities to grow within a leading industrial distributor known for integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a 4-year engineering degree program.
• Must be able to read wiring diagrams and follow during the assembly process.
• Proficient with AutoCAD- reading, modifying and preparing drawings.
• Proficient using Adobe, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Proficient in using the Internet to obtain information.
• Must be able to organize, control and archive documentation.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Promote a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Power Systems Sales personnel with vendor transactions and parts orders.
• Coordinate shipping and paperwork to facilitate sales.
• Support switchgear and panel retrofit projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
