Job summary

Carter Machinery is seeking an Engineering Intern in Richmond, VA for the 1st shift. The intern will assist Power Systems Sales with vendor transactions, switchgear and panel retrofit projects, parts orders, shipping, and paperwork processing to facilitate sales.

Prefer hands-on engineering exposure and strong technical skills. You will be part of a team that values integrity, commitment, and teamwork, with opportunities to learn from experienced engineers and gain practical industry experience

Qualifications

• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude required.
• Must be able to read wiring diagrams and follow during the assembly process.
• Proficient with AutoCAD- reading, modifying and preparing drawings.
• Proficient using Adobe, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Proficient in using the Internet to obtain information.
• Must be able to organize, control and archive documentation.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Power Systems Sales personnel with vendor transactions and paperwork.
• Support switchgear and panel retrofit projects; process parts orders and shipping.
• Coordinate and process paperwork to facilitate sales.
