Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) seeks a Power Systems Engineer II to coordinate congestion and transmission coordination for reliable real-time operations across regional boundaries. You will engage with Operators, Market personnel, and neighboring grid partners to ensure accurate and timely Seams coordination.

This role emphasizes analytical work with power system data, cross-team collaboration, and on-call support where needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (EE/CE/related)
• 2+ years of related work experience
• Strong analytical skills with complex system data
• Excellent communication and collaboration; rotating on-call possible
• Experience with PSS/e, TARA, MUST or similar tools

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain core Seams processes (AFC, IDC, NNL, flowgates)
• Build strong, trusted relationships with MISO Operators, Market personnel, and neighboring RTO counterparts
• Contribute to at least one improvement initiative or cross-team project
• Communicate effectively and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision
