Job summary

Midcontinent Independent System Operator Inc. seeks a Power Systems Engineer II to support Operators and grid partners in congestion and transmission coordination, ensuring safe, efficient real-time operations across regional boundaries.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field, 2+ years of experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with power system modeling tools such as PSS/e, TARA, MUST.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Two or more years of related work experience.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaborative mindset; willingness to support rotating on‑call.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain core Seams processes (AFC, IDC, NNL, flowgates) with accuracy and timeliness.
• Build strong relationships with MISO Operators and neighboring teams.
• Contribute to at least one improvement initiative or cross‑team project.
• Communicate effectively with minimal supervision.
