Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a Commissioning Engineer in Denver, CO to oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of protective relay equipment and related systems. Responsibilities include documenting test results and ensuring proper operation.

The ideal candidate brings 4+ years in electrical testing and experience with SEL, GE, ABB, and Westinghouse relays, plus familiarity with RTS, ProTest, and Protection Suite.

Qualifications

4+ years in electrical testing with a focus on protection and control for HV utility, co-op, power generation, federal or municipal clients.
Oversee protection and control technicians and engineers.
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Responsibilities

Promotes safe working practices and human performance improvement daily.
Leads or participates in Job Hazard Analysis with the team.
Install, commission, test, and maintain protective relay equipment, PCAs, DFRs, and RTUs.
Perform functional testing for protection and control circuitry for transmission lines, HV bus, transformers, breakers, feeders, reactors, and capacitor banks.
End-to-end testing of protection schemes using RTS, ProTest, or Protection Suite.
