Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. seeks a Commissioning Engineer to oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of protective relay equipment and related systems for high voltage substations. The role includes documenting test results and ensuring safety and quality during field work.

You will work with diverse protective relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse) and test software such as RTS, ProTest, and Protection Suite, contributing to successful client projects and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

4+ years in electrical testing with a focus on protection and control in HV environments.
Experience with transmission and distribution relays (SEL, GE, ABB, Westinghouse).
Familiarity with protection test equipment and software RTS, ProTest, Protection Suite.
Ability to interpret one-line and wiring diagrams and develop commissioning test plans.

Responsibilities

Promote safe work practices and human performance improvement in daily tasks.
Lead or participate in Job Hazard Analysis with the team.
Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of protective relay equipment and RTU/DLR systems.
Document test results and prepare reports for client and regulatory purposes.
Complete time and expense reports and maintain vehicle condition.
