Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert Co. is seeking a Power Systems Studies Engineer I to join the Electric Power Systems group in Overland, Missouri.

The role supports analysis, evaluation, and design of electrical power systems for various facilities, working under senior engineers and collaborating with project teams. This entry-level engineer will gain experience in power system analysis, protection, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• 0-3 years of electrical engineering experience; internship/co-op/utility experience is a plus.
• FE exam or EIT certification preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical power systems and distribution equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing electrical power system studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash) for low-voltage systems.
• Perform engineering calculations: cable ampacity, voltage drop, equipment evaluation, protective device sizing.
• Support settings development for low-voltage breakers and simple relays under guidance of senior engineers.
• Review drawings, one-line diagrams, vendor submittals, and specs for accuracy and compliance.
