Asplundh Tree Expert Co is seeking a Power Systems Studies Engineer I in Pittsburgh, PA to support electrical power system analyses for diverse facilities. You will perform studies, calculations, and documentation under senior engineers, gaining experience in protection and system performance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, up to 3 years experience, and a willingness to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 0–3 years of electrical engineering experience.
• FE exam or EIT certification preferred.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical power systems and NEC.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing electrical power system studies (short-circuit, coordination, arc flash) for low-voltage systems.
• Perform calculations including cable ampacity, voltage drop, equipment evaluation, and protective device sizing.
• Support settings for low-voltage breakers and simple relays under guidance.
• Review drawings, one-line diagrams, vendor submittals for accuracy and compliance.
• Assist with field data collection, investigations, and verification activities.
• Research and apply codes, standards, client specifications.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to support execution.
• Participate in safety reviews and promote safety culture.
