American Electric Power in Albany, NY seeks an engineer to perform intermediate level engineering work applying electrical engineering knowledge to safe, efficient project execution. You will analyze system performance, run stability studies, build models, and support planning, operations and regulatory needs.

Requires ABET-accredited engineering degree with 2+ years experience; electrical engineering degree preferred. On-site position with competitive, comprehensive benefits.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with ABET accreditation required.
• Master's degree may be considered for entry at the SG7 level.
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred; VP or above may waive if applicable.

Mansioni

• Conduct system performance analysis to support planning, operations, and regulatory needs.
• Perform power system stability and compliance studies.
• Run transient/voltage stability, insulation coordination, and EMF studies.
• Create power system models and perform power-flow analyses for dynamics and restoration.
• Calculate electromagnetic interference for transmission lines.
