Job summary

MISO is seeking a Power System Operations Engineer II to join the Real Time Operations group. You will help manage the transmission system, monitor EMS inputs, and support reliability across the Eastern Interconnection.

This role involves training toward full EMS expertise, learning State Estimator inputs, and interacting with operators and stakeholders to ensure reliable power delivery. A 12-hour rotating shift is required, with a 7.5% shift differential and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with real-time operations or transmission operations is preferred.
• Programming experience in C, C++, VBA, Perl or Python is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Train in EMS maintenance and State Estimator inputs during Reserve Engineer track.
• Monitor inputs from ICCP/SCADA into the EMS State Estimator and perform contingency analyses.
• Contribute to projects that improve operations and reliability.
• Collaborate with operators and external/internal stakeholders to ensure reliable power flows.
