Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Commercial Banking Underwriting Analyst in a hybrid program-based role within the Power and Renewables Energy Group. The Analyst Development Program starts July 7, 2027, with on-the-job training and formal coursework in credit underwriting.

Based in Santa Monica, CA, you will support underwriting and portfolio management for debt financing on solar, wind, gas, and battery storage projects as part of a team that financed over $1B in 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum required education and experience: Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree/equivalent and 2 years' experience; coursework or internship in commercial lending or credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and finance fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Build financial models in Excel for solar, wind, gas and battery storage projects.
• Perform due diligence including company and industry analysis, reviewing engineering, market, insurance and transmission studies.
• Prepare internal credit memoranda.
• Prepare marketing materials for potential clients and other lenders.
• Work as part of a Deal Team on live transactions, engaged in credit underwriting and portfolio management activities.
• Participate in internal credit approval meetings and client calls.
