Job summary

First Citizens Bank seeks a Commercial Banking Underwriting Analyst through its Analyst Development Program in a hybrid role with regular NYC office work. The program starts July 7, 2027, with eight weeks of on-site training at the New York City Office.

After the ADP, analysts join the Power and Renewables Energy Group to support credit underwriting and portfolio management for diverse debt solutions in energy projects across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate degree with 2 years of coursework or internship in commercial lending or credit analysis.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities with Excel.
• Interest in power and energy, and comfort with credit policies.

Responsibilities

• Financial modeling in Excel for solar, wind, gas and battery storage projects.
• Due diligence of projects including company and industry analysis, reviewing engineering, market, insurance and transmission studies.
• Preparation of internal credit memorandum.
• Preparation of marketing materials for potential clients and other lenders.
• Work as part of a Deal Team on live transactions, engaged in credit underwriting and portfolio management.
• Participate in internal credit approval meetings and client/customer calls as appropriate.
