Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company is hiring an associate-level Power Quality Engineer to join a team that resolves power quality issues for safe and efficient electric power utilization. You will operate under guidance from senior engineers and supervisors.

The role includes assisting customers, providing monitoring support, and contributing to power quality programs and guidelines while applying industry standards and Rule 2.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the US or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in power engineering.
• California EIT certificate active.
• Familiar with Rule 2 and voltage complaint procedures.
• Able to read and understand single line, SCADA and schematic diagrams.
• Able to quickly learn power quality mitigation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to internal and external customers to resolve power quality related problems.
• Provide monitoring support and resources for power quality issue handling.
• Support power quality programs and guidelines company-wide.
• Investigate customer issue correlations using PG&E tools.
• Provide power quality education and awareness to clients.
