Job summary

Exelon Corporation is seeking an Associate Engineer to support experienced engineers in planning, design, construction, and maintenance of utility infrastructure, including electric and gas systems. This entry-level role involves assisting with studies, calculations, permitting, and performance evaluations to ensure safety, reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices.
• Zero to two years of professional engineering experience
• Limited knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform routine assignments for a specific discipline installations, or service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with well-defined engineering assignments in specialized areas requiring engineering expertise, exercising independent discretion (60%).
• Provide support to engineering and operating groups to analyze design, installation, and maintenance activities. Assist in complex engineering assignments (20%).
• Assist with technical consultation, plan developments, and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes (10%).
• Evaluate effectiveness of current technical systems and processes. Participate on teams (10%).
• Collaborate with teams to design high voltage transmission and distribution circuits, meeting engineering standards and criteria.
