Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a Preconstruction Services Director 1 – Power to lead the estimating and preconstruction function for major natural gas, thermal power, and energy‑infrastructure projects. You will guide pursuit strategy, manage teams, and collaborate with operations, engineers, OEMs, and trade partners to drive profitable outcomes.

This role requires deep power generation knowledge, EPC delivery experience, and ability to develop scalable preconstruction processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of construction estimating experience.
• 5+ years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads overall preconstruction process with competitive bids, proposals, and budgets.
• Prepares and executes win strategies with interviews and presentations.
• Oversees preconstruction teams for successful project delivery.
• Manages relationships with clients and design teams during preconstruction.
• Performs self‑perform estimating when needed.
• Creates conceptual budgets and tracks project cost history.
• Reviews project business plans for alignment and profitability.
