Job summary

JE Dunn Construction is seeking a highly skilled Preconstruction Services Director 1 – Power to lead the estimating and preconstruction lifecycle for major natural gas, thermal power, and energy projects. This executive will guide market strategy, manage teams, and ensure competitive, accurate solutions that drive profitable execution.

The role requires deep power generation expertise, EPC delivery knowledge, and strong collaboration with clients, OEMs, and trade partners.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field is required or equivalent experience.
10+ years construction estimating/preconstruction experience with leadership responsibilities.
Experience on power generation projects (natural gas/thermal) and EPC delivery models.
Strong communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

Lead overall preconstruction process for power projects, including cost estimates and budgets.
Develop pursuit strategies and present proposals to clients and internal stakeholders.
Manage preconstruction teams and maintain strong client and design-team relationships.
Oversee takeoffs, pricing accuracy, and risk assessment with operations partners.
Mentor and develop preconstruction staff within the Power market.
