Job summary

WIN Waste Innovations is seeking a Utility Operator to support the operation and inspection of power plant systems, including boilers and related equipment, under supervision.

You will monitor and control plant equipment, read meters and gauges, perform sampling and water treatment tasks, and collaborate with the Shift Supervisor and Control Room Operator to maintain safe, efficient operations. This role requires flexibility for overtime and rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Three+ months related experience or training.
• Mechanical tasks include shear pins, valve repacking, and inspections.
• Ability to operate power plant auxiliary equipment like air compressors, dryers, and pumps.
• Ability to work overtime and rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect boiler plant systems in line with procedures.
• Monitor auxiliary equipment and report malfunctions.
• Read meters and gauges to identify abnormal conditions.
• Perform water sampling and ash sampling tasks.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and safe.
• Operate mobile equipment such as Bobcat, forklift.
• Assist with refuse-fuel handling and fire watch as needed.
• Work overtime during planned/unplanned maintenance.
• Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
