Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) is offering an internship for a Station Operator Intern - GGS at Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, Nebraska. The program runs during the summer, with duties including learning from seasoned operators, attending turnover meetings, and completing basic plant operations training.

The intern will perform rounds, observe control room operations, and participate in safety and lockout/tagout procedures under supervision.

Qualifications

• Completed first year (two semesters) of Energy Generation Operations coursework.
• Attended shift turnover meetings and basic plant operations training.

Responsibilities

• Learn and shadow station operators.
• Attend shift turnover meetings.
• Complete basic coal-fired plant operations training.
• Perform rounds with a Station Operator.
• Observe control room operations and safety procedures.
• Complete lockout/tagout reviews and related duties.
