Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) invites engineering students to join Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, Nebraska, as Engineering Intern - Energy Production for May 2026 through August 2026. You will work with experienced engineers in operations and maintenance, assist with data collection and troubleshooting, and gain exposure to asset management and capital projects.

The program requires pursuing an engineering degree and typically finishing sophomore year.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree from an accredited college/university.
• Must be finishing their sophomore year of college.
• Assist Plant Engineers with equipment troubleshooting.
• Obtain field data.
• Utilize drawings and prepare drawing revisions.
• Research equipment replacement and upgrade options.
• Assist with project field implementation and contractor oversight.
