Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in power plant technology, engineering technology, or a related technical field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager with daily plant operations, staffing, scheduling, and manpower requirements; assume Operations Manager responsibilities when required.
• Supervise, coach, and provide direction to Shift Operations personnel and Coal Yard Technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
• Lead shift personnel in accordance with company policies, plant procedures, operating requirements, technical specifications, and applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Oversee employee development and performance, including training, coaching, recognition, performance assessments, and corrective action as appropriate.
• Supervise plant start-up, operation, and shutdown activities and ensure equipment remains within established design and operating limits.
• Monitor plant conditions, alarms, operating data, historian information, logs, and equipment status; identify abnormal conditions and direct troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Serve as the senior on-site supervisor when plant management is not present, making operational, personnel, and safety decisions as required.
• Lead operations requirements during planned and forced outages, including equipment isolation, LOTO, maintenance coordination, system turnover, testing, and return-to-service activities.
