Job summary

NAES seeks a Shift Supervisor for Sandy Creek Energy Station in Texas to lead Shift Operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation and providing after-hours coverage when management is not present.

You will supervise operators and technicians, coordinate start-ups and outages, monitor alarms and data, enforce safety rules, and report plant status to management and incoming shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in power plant technology preferred.
• Extensive experience in coal-fired plant operations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operations Manager with daily plant operations and staffing.
• Supervise Shift Operations personnel and Coal Yard Technicians.
• Lead a shift in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Oversee employee development, coaching, and performance assessments.
• Supervise start-up, operation, and shutdown activities within limits.
• Monitor plant data, alarms, logs, and identify abnormal conditions.
• Serve as senior on-site supervisor during after-hours and outages.
• Coordinate outages, LOTO, maintenance, and system turnover.
• Ensure dispatch compliance and maintain plant priorities.
• Maintain shift documentation and communicate status to management.
