Job summary

Xcel Energy in Colorado offers an internship with the Performance Optimization Organization, reporting to the Reliability Organization. The intern will provide technical responses to operations and maintenance at designated plants and work with Plant Engineers.

Typical duties include reviewing designs, reviewing APM recommendations, cleaning work orders, and supporting capital projects. The internship starts May 24, 2027 and may extend based on performance and business needs.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours/week) and part-time during the school year (up to 20 hours/week) in-person per hybrid policy.
• Current student, Junior or higher as of Fall 2027.

Responsibilities
